Kiyomizudera, Arashiyama Bamboo Forest

Ashley Dy in Kiyomizudera

After our bamboo forest adventure, my friends mom bought some of these.. We thought it was real crab but it was fake, tasted like fish balls.

.

There are way more flavours to choose from

Next the pathway to Kiyomizudera..

I’ve just learned that there are many types of teas in Japan and not just matcha. Shame on me for being scolded by a Japanese woman when I asked her, “これ抹茶ですか?” (Is this matcha?) when they’re are way more types of tea such as gyokuro and sencha. Gyokuro aren’t allowed to be under the direct sunlight for around two weeks before harvesting while sencha were grown under the sun like usual plants. Of course, gyokuro are treated to be the finest tea out there.

Ah! It's beautiful. Not going to lie, I thought kyoto was purely an ancient city so imagine my surprise when I arrived at the very modern kyoto station. It's unfortunate that eventually the trophies of the past are going to disappear.

My favorite place in Japan would be Kyoto. Even if I haven't been there. I love the traditional building and culture. It's not just about it, it's also about how they value and preserve everything while they are embracing modernity. I love your photographs.

I was there long ago, only have one or two pictures so it's nice to remember from seeing yours. I'm interested in the different types of green teat…I don't know anything about them either >_<

When I went it was dark and raining, yet nonetheless beautiful! Your pictures make me wish I had been there during the day.
